April 11 at Baldwin

The Onekama Baseball team started the year with 2 wins over the Baldwin Panthers.  In Game One, it was Onekama 14 and Baldwin 1.  Jim Kosiboski pitched the entire game to earn win allowing only 1 run and striking out 6.  The Portagers scored 7 runs in the second inning and then added 5 more in the fourth inning. The game featured a spectacular, diving catch by centerfielder Ryan Miller.  Six Portager players had at least one hit in the game.
In Game Two, it was Onekama 6 Baldwin 3.  Sophomore Dan Gillespie got the start and picked up the win.  Jim Kosiboski had two hits to lead the offense.  ~Coach Neph

April 14 at Marion 4:00

The Onekama Baseball team lost two games at Marion.  Game One:  Marion 7 Onekama 6.  Hunter Slade and Joe Kosiboski had 2 hits each to lead the Portager offense.   Game Two Marion 13 Onekama 8.  Hunter Slade had 3 hits and Danny Gillespie had 2.  Michael Mastrianni had his first varsity hit in the game!  ~Coach Neph

April 17 Brethren Home The Onekama Baseball team split a doubleheader with the Brethren Bobcats.

May 5 at Bear Lake

The baseball game with Bear Lake that was scheduled for May 5th has been changed to May 22nd.

May 8 Home vs. MCC 4:30

Last night, Onekama lost both games of the non-conference doubleheader against Manistee Catholic, Game one 8-3; Game Two 10-3.

May 10 at Glen Lake

The Onekama Baseball team participated in the John Schlosser Memorial Baseball Tournament in Glen Lake on Saturday. The boys baseball team came in second at the Glen Lake tournament.  We won game one over Glen Lake by a score of 6 to 5 then lost in championship game to Manistee Catholic Central by a score of 10 to 7.

May 12 at MCE 4:30

The Onekama Portager baseball team won one and lost one at Mason County Eastern.  In Game One, senior Jim Kosiboski pitched a gem of a game as the Portagers won by a score of 11 to nothing.  Jim pitched all 6 innings of the game to collect his 6th win of the year, allowing only 3 hits and striking out 6.  The defense also played well and featured several good plays by Sophomore First baseman Alex Block.  Offensively, Jim Kosiboski lead the way with 3 hits (4 rbi’s), while Dan Gillespie and Ryan Miller collected 2 hits each.  In Game Two it was Mason County Eastern winning by a score of 4 to nothing.  Thomas Koon pitched well but the Portager offense only generated 5 hits in the loss. May 13 vs. Mesick Home 4:30

The baseball team lost both games of the double header to Mesick last night.  Game One Mesick 7 Onekama 6.  Game Two Mesick 10 Onekama 3.

May 16 Buckley 4:30

The BB/SB home game vs. Buckley has been changed from Thursday May 15th to Friday May 16th

May 27  Pre-district vs. Brethren at Frankfort

Both the baseball and softball team will play in the pre-district in Frankfort on Tuesday, May 27th at 4:30 pm against Brethren.

Both teams are expected to be on site by 4:00pm that day for the coin flip to determine the home team for this contest.  The home team determination also determines which dugout each team will have for that contest.

Wednesday, May 28th Home vs. Frankfort Also please make a note that both the baseball and softball teams will be playing Frankfort AT HOME on Wednesday, May 28th.
District Tournament vs. Manistee Catholic at Frankfort May 31, Saturday

If they win Tuesday, the baseball team will face Manistee Catholic Central on Saturday, May 31st at 10:00am in Frankfort.  The winner of that game will face the winner of the game between Bear Lake and Frankfort for the District Championship.

If they win Tuesday the softball team will play Manistee Catholic Central on Saturday, May 31st at 11:30am in Frankfort.  The winner of that game will face the winner of the game between Bear Lake and Frankfort for the District Championship.

Admission to the district games are $5.00 per person.
