Portagers Split a Doubleheader with the Bobcats

April 17, 2008

The Onekama Baseball team split a doubleheader with the Brethren Bobcats.  In Game One, Ryan Miller exploded for a grand slam home run and then added a bases loaded triple (that’s 7 runs batted in!!) as the Portagers won game one by a score of 8 to 2.  For the game Ryan had 3 hits and Thomas Koon had 2 hits to lead the Portager offense.  Jim Kosiboski went the distance and picked up the win, allowing only 2 runs in the first inning, while striking out 6.

In Game Two, the Bobcats scored 5 runs in the first inning and then held off the Portagers late in the game to win by a score of 6 to 4.  Jared Miller had 2 hits to lead the Portager offense, while Travis McKenney collected his first varsity hit!
