Book Sale

The Fifth Grade class worked to be philanthropists by bringing in books from home and selling them. They earned $65.41 which they were proud to donate to the Onekama Library.

We were especially pleased with our First Grade Customers! They helped to make our sale a success.

On Thursday we learned that the 5th grade class was planning a book sale to raise money to buy at least one book for our school library. It was part of their philanthropic study. We were excited to participate. Checking Room 438's First Grade Fund, we used calculators to determined just how much we could afford to spend. To our delight we found out that each student could have 3 dimes and 1 quarter! Since all the books would be sold for 10c and 25c, we could help the 5th graders and get some new reading materials at the same time.

Friday morning we headed to the tables of books and found many treasures.

Emily thought it was fun!

"They had good books," commented Derek. Kelly had this to say. "It was really fun because we got to buy more books for us to read."

Amy agreed, "I thought it was fun and cool to be able to buy books."

Joshua was thrilled. "I liked it when I got books. I got a Stuart Little book!"

"I got a lot of really good books. I have read some of the series of the Babysitters Club, The Magic Treehouse and the Bailey School Kids, and I found some of these books today."

"We had fun picking out books, chimbed in Elizabeth.
