Making Soil Blocks

Mr. Neph's 6th Grade
Science class

February 2011

Last week on February 10th, the 6th grade science class made soil blocks. Mr. Craig Schaaf came from his farm to help teach us how to make a soil block for growing seedlings. The cool thing is that these tomato plants will go into our brand new greenhouse. Also, there are 28 different types of tomato plants. The soil blocks are currently being stored under a heat light in Mr. Hunter's room. Last spring we went out to Mr. Schaaf's farm and saw his plants. Another thing about making the soil blocks is we got very messy. Making soil blocks is very fun. ~Kyle Peterson
