Onekama Girls Basketball Grade 5: Nov. 6, 2007

The Onekama 5th Grade Portagers won a great game tonight Onekama 32 - Brethren 12

This year I am in 5th grade basketball. We played Brethren on November 6th. We scored 32 to 22. The quarters are six minutes long. I played center and guard. If you play center you have to bring down the ball. If you play guard you have to pass the ball in to the center. The Brethren team got used to our plays. Number 24 fell a lot with the ball. One time she fell with the ball she fell right on top of me. Another person that is center is Hailey. It is a lot of fun playing basketball. ~Caitlin Z.

This year I am in fifth grade basketball. My coaches are Mr. Kott and Mrs. Zielinski. There are 10 girls on our team. So far we have had two games, we won one and we lost one. I play forward and jump ball in the beginning. My basketball number is 41. My best friend plays. Her name is Julie. I love basketball so much. My team is very amazing. When our games start I get so nervous. My friends don't so I will have to get over it. Well, anyway basketball is awesome. ~Hanah

	The starting lineups were Hailey, Hannah, Julie, Anna, and Megan. We stole the ball a lot. Caitlin got fouled and got to shoot free throws, but she missed. We won the game. ~Hailey A girl from the other team passed the center court and would lose control of the ball, and Hailey would take it and shoot it. Brethren is a pretty good team, but we won. ~Tawny We played Brethren and won. We had lots of jump balls. Brethren was a pretty good team. ~Natasha
