The Portagers traveled to Bear Lake for the second time this week to play a hard fought defensive battle. The Onekama girls came away with a combined 25 steals being led by Danielle Ward with 10 and followed by Jaylee Brown with 5, Emily Pomeroy with  4 and Lindsay Nesburg and Madeline Harvey with three each. The Portagers also did a tremendous job of hitting the boards and had a team total 35 rebounds being led by Jennica Mathieu and Ward with 8 each. Nesburg was right behind them with seven  while Brown, Pomeroy, Harvey, and Gabrielle "Gabby" Bellinger each had 3 rebounds.  Mathieu led the Portagers in scoring with 11 points while Pomeroy pitched in with 6. Ward had 3 points and Nesburg 2 to give Onekama a 22 to 8 win over the Lakers and remain undefeated so far this season. ~Mark Ward, Reporting
