Portagers Allow No Second Chances in Final Half

The second half of Friday night's match-up with the Manistee Chippewas could easily be titled as "NO SECOND CHANCES".  The Portager J.V. Girls' Basketball team claimed their first win of the season from the Chips after four hard fought quarters and a score of 40-27.

After a slow start in the first half of the game, the Portagers entered their locker room at halftime and made a decision as to which team was going to take home a victory following the next two quarters of play.  The Portagers kicked their game tempo into high gear for the second half of the game and outscored the Chips 19-8.
Leading the offensive drive for the Portagers was Sherece Revolt with 23 points, followed by Taylor Hagen with 12.
Also scoring for the Portagers was Katie Prielipp with 3 points and Lexi Howard with 2.  The team's leading rebounder for the night was Taylor Hagen who ripped down 13 rebounds against the Chippewas.  Leading in scoring for Manistee were both Kalyn Cabot and Hannah Surtor with 9 points each.  The Portagers will next see action on Monday night December 3rd, on the road at Brethren, in a match-up against the Bobcats.
