"GREAT" First Match-Up of 2008!
The young ladies on the J.V. Portager
basketball team were hoping the New Year would carry them on to
bigger and better things in their endeavors as a team. Monday
night's game showcased what looked to be the start of something very
good for the Portager girls. The J.V. squad was able to reap a
victory from the Wildcats of Walkerville, with a final score at the
buzzer of 40-14.
Leading the offensive rally for the
Portagers was sophomore Sherece Revolt who posted 18 points,
followed by freshman Taylor Hagen who put up 10 points on the
board. Also contributing points for the Portagers were Brooke
Sedalmaier with 5 points, Diamond Kimpel with 4 points and Lexi
Howard with 3 points.
The Portager girls were rebounding monsters
with 3 girls posting boards in double digits. Both Sherece Revolt
and Diamond Kimpel hauled down 11 rebounds each, followed by Taylor
Hagen who ripped down 10. Katie Prielipp posted the highest number
of both steals (6) and assists (5) for the night.
The J.V. Portagers will next see action on
Thursday, January 10th at home against the Bear Lake Lakers. Tip
off is at 6 pm.
