Our 1st senior, #13 Kelsey Acker, is a 3 year varsity player and starter.  All three years Kelsey has been a solid force on offense, consistently being a leading scorer.  She often leads the team in best tumbles and bruises too.  Kelsey will be remembered by her coaches and teammates as being full of laughs and good at drifting in her car.

Onekama Girls Basketball Senior Night

Tonight as we play our potentially last home game of the 2007-2008 season, we would like to highlight our 4 seniors Kelsey, Carmen, Alyssa, and Kieran for all their hard work and dedication throughout the past 4 years.

Our 3rd senior, #22 Alyssa Cole, is a 3 year varsity player.  Known for her aggressiveness on the court, Alyssa has lead the team in steals and fouls all three years.  She is often the spark plug of the team with her tenacity on both ends of the floor.  Alyssa will be remembered by her coaches and teammates as being strong willed and always spicing things up or stinking them up with her shoes.

Our 2nd senior, #20 Carmen Howard, is a 2 year varsity player who has really developed into being a key role player in her senior year.  Being light on her feet, Carmen is one of the team’s best defenders.  Carmen will be remembered by her coaches and teammates as being full of laughs and crazy like a monkey.

Thank you Kelsey, Carmen, Alyssa, and Kieran all of your efforts, determination, and hard work throughout the past 4 years.  Our program has grown and will continue to grow because of each of you.  Good Luck as you play in your final home game and move on to bigger and better things.

Portagers earn some respect despite dropping the final home game to Big Rapids Crossroads  33-64

Our 4th and last senior, #23 Kieran O’Connor, is a two year varsity player who has continually gotten better throughout her career.  Her dedication, work hard, and positive spirit has motivated many of her teammates this season and along with future seasons.  Kieran will be remembered by her coaches and teammates as having a true passion for the game, being full of life, and wondering where her pants are.
