Onekama Girls Basketballl 2007-2008

After hanging tough through the first half, our Onekama Portagers fell to Lake Leelanau St. Mary’s on Saturday night, 68-48. Alyssa Cole led scorers with 18 points and 6 steals, while Carmen Howard and Paige Rutowski each had 8 points. Kelsey Acker had 7 points, Chelsea Miller had 3 points, and Kieran O’Connor and Olivia Bolthouse each had 2 points. Skin points were once again evenly dished.

     We played much better than Thursday night’s game making more shots from the free throw line and playing with heart and intensity. People played unfamiliar roles quite well creating opportunities for others. All in all, games like this past week will only help us later in the season. We’re getting better each day and fundamentally we’ll continue to get better.
     The Portagers are next in action on Tuesday, December 11^th at Big Rapids Cross Roads Academy. We travel to Pentwater on Friday.
