The OHS varsity couldn't
overcome a third period scoring drought against Bear Lake on Tuesday
night, losing 83-66 in a contest that was much closer than the score
indicated. The Portagers played brilliantly in the first half and for
much of the third period; rebounding, defending, and pounding the ball
inside. Bear Lake was able to hang around thanks to some high
percentage outside shooting. The Portagers led 52-50 midway through the
third quarter before Bear Lake was able to capitalize on Onekama's cold
shooting. Jim Kosiboski grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Portagers,
followed by Ryan Miller with 10. Offensively, Nick Bradford dominated
inside with 27 points and 7 rebounds, followed by Levi Capper's 17
points and 5 assists. Onekama (7-4, 7-3) looks to rebound when
they travel to Brethren this Friday.
