The Onekama varsity showed grit and
determination in Friday night's district championship game in Frankfort,
but they came up just short, losing to Bear Lake by a score of 58-68.
It was a disappointing defeat, but the Portager faithful couldn't be
prouder of the passion and effort displayed by the team.
In their final game wearing the Portager blue and gold, Nick Bradford
and Jim Kosboski scored 25 points and 6 points, respectively. |
Junior Levi
Capper had a fine performance, scoring 18 points while playing tenacious
defense. Hunter Slade chipped in with 6 points before fouling
out, followed by Ryan Miller with 2 and Skyler Kimpel with 1. OHS
finishes the season with a 13-10 record. Despite the enormous loss of
scoring and leadership in seniors Bradford and Kosiboski, the
Portagers return several key players and hope to continue the tradition
and excellence of Onekama basketball next season. ~Lucas Balmer |
