| The Portagers fell behind 8-12 to the Marion Eagles at the end of the first quarter of Tuesday night's season opening contest in Onekama but settled down and responded by taking a 22-15 lead into halftime. The Portagers did not relent in the second half, coasting to a 52-23 victory courtesy of suffocating defense and solid rebounding. | Joe Kosiboski grabbed 15 rebounds to go along with 23 points to lead Onekama. Thomas Koon ran the offense brilliantly and added 12 points. Skylar Kimple provided a spark off the bench, grabbing 10 rebounds and playing tough defense. The Portagers (1-0, 0-0) hit the road on Friday to open league play against Bear Lake. ~Lucas Balmer |
