Conference Finals

Feb. 9, 2006

Just when this reporter felt secure in knowing the scoring process for this sport, the powers that be made some changes on how Conference Finals would be scored. It is my understanding that this year, the Conference used the World Cup point system. In other words, the racers earned points for each placing and race they participated in as far as the Conference meets for Conference medals. It used to be that Conference race day was the only day that counted for a medal...it either went well, or horrible...no placings you may have earned through out the season mattered, just that one day. This may have worked well for some this year. However, there were racers that missed races due to illness or family obligations and they were saddled with 0 points for those days hurting their final score in the Conference standings. It is also my understanding that this process added up to another 2 hours of calculations, so it is to be seen if they continue with this method.

The Conference Finals were held at Crystal Mt. The days tournament results are as follows.
