Teamwork prevailed as the Portagers get their 1st win of the season defeating Bear Lake 53-34.
Everybody stepped up and faced the constant lingering challenges of injury and foul trouble that arose mid way through the third quarter.

Defensive execution and finishing offensive opportunties were key points of focus heading into the game.  Great defensive exection with 26 steals led to three of six players having double figures.  Bonnie Harthun finished with 17 points, and 15 rebounds.  Alyssa Cole had 10 points and 7 steals.  Ronnie Maidens finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Kelsey Acker, Marlee Herkelrath, and Ginny Ashworth did a nice job maintaining the game tempo in the offensive end perfecting new offensive sets.  All three worked well together, moving and creating opportunities for themselves and others to score.  Ginny Ashworth finished with 4 points, 5 boards, and 3 assists.  Marlee Herkelrath had 6 points and 4 steals.  Kelsey Acker ended up with 5 points, 6 steals, and 2 assists.

The Portagers are now 1-5 overall, and 1-4 in the conference.  They are next in action at Baldwin on Tuesday allowing for a nice break to heal injuries and work on details.
