9/6 at Mason County Eastern The Onekama Junior Varsity Portagers lost a tough game to the host Mason County Eastern Cardinals, 44-37. Photographs and Results
9/8 at Northport On the road again..... that seems to be the slogan for the Onekama Portagers. On Thursday in JV action, it was the visiting Onekama Portagers over the Northport Wildcats, 38-17. Leading the Portagers in scoring was Chelsea Miller with 13 points. Stacey Keith chipped in 12 points, four rebounds and five assists. Olivia Bolthouse had the hot hand in the first half and finished with eight points. Kieran O'Connor had five points to round out the scoring. Paige Rutowski controlled the boards by collecting a game high, 10 rebounds. Onekama (1-2) travels down to Walkerville for a West Michigan D League contest with the Wildcats on Tuesday beginning at 6:00.
9/13 at Walkerville On Tuesday, the Onekama Portagers lost to the host Walkerville Wildcats, 49-38. Battling the humidity and trying to overcome turnover issues, the Portagers fought hard, but in the end, it wasn't enough. Leading the way for the Portagers was Kieran O'Connor and Chelsea Miller with 10 points each. Miller had eight rebounds to lead the squad. Olivia Bolthouse had eight points. Paige Rutowski had a season high six points and six rebounds. Stacey Keith rounded out the scoring with four points and six blocks. Onekama, (1-3)
9/15 at Brethren Brethren Bobcats defeated Onekama 51-32. Leading the Portagers in scoring was Stacey Keith with 10 points and eight rebounds. 9/20 at Bear Lake When the final horn sounded, the Onekama Portagers dropped a heart-breaker to rival Bear Lake, 47-42 in Junior Varsity action. Photographs and statistics. // New Team photo
9/22 Free Soil at Freesoil Game postponed
9/27 at Baldwin It wasn't a good start, but the Junior Varsity Portagers were able to pick it up a notch in the second half and cruised to a 41-22 victory on the road in Baldwin. Onekama was down 6-5 at the end of the first quarter. Onekama enjoyed the half-time lead 13-11 and came out on fire in the second half by scoring 14 points in each quarter. Leading the way for the Portagers was Olivia Bolthouse with 16 points and five steals. Chelsea Miller had nine points and four rebounds. Stacey Keith had seven points, six rebounds and four assists. Kieran O'Connor had five points, four assists and two steals. Paige Rutowski had two points, five rebounds and Carmen Howard had two points to round out scoring for the Portagers.
9/29 Pentwater at Home Game Photographs Onekama Portagers got off to a great start and that resulted in an Onekama Portager victory 38-27 The Portagers were led by a well-balanced scoring attack: freshmen Chelsea Miller with 12 points. Freshmen Stacey Keith had nine points and Olivia Bolthouse had eight points, lone sophomore on the night, Kieran O'Connor had seven points. Paige Rutowski had two points to round out scoring on the night.
10/4 MCE at Onekama The temperature inside the Onekama gym was warm just like the Mason County Eastern Cardinals shooting on Tuesday night as MCE charged past the host Portagers, 47-32 in West Michigan D League action. Leading the way for the Portagers was Chelsea Miller with 14 points and eight rebounds. Carmen Howard added six points off the bench to go with eight rebounds. Olivia Bolthouse had four points, seven rebounds and two steals. Stacey Keith contributed four points, seven rebounds and four blocks. Kieran O'Connor had three points and Paige Rutowski added a free throw to round out scoring on the night for the host Portagers. MCE were led by freshmen, Emily Beifuss with 21 points. 10/6 Walkerville at Home Game Photos and Coach Comments It was a close and competitive game for the Onekama Portagers on Thursday night, but in the end, the visiting Walkerville Wildcats had too much depth and a well balanced scoring as they defeated the host Portagers, 47-39
10/11 Traverse City Christian at Home JV Portagers drop contest to TC Christian Sabres
The flu season is upon us in many different ways. The flu bug for the Onekama Portagers Junior Varsity team continues to be turnovers. On Tuesday, the Onekama Portagers lost a non-league contest to the visiting Traverse City Christian Sabres, 35-26. Stacey Keith had 12 points, seven rebounds, three assist,and four steals. Olivia Bolthouse had seven points, four steals and six rebounds. Paige Rutowski had six points, 11 rebounds and six steals. Chelsea Miller rounded out scoring with one point and nine rebounds. TC Christian were led by Stephanie Arnot with 16 points.

10/25 Baldwin at home Onekama takes care of business against Baldwin
On Tuesday night, the Onekama Portagers overcame a sluggish first half and cruised to a 63-24 win over the Baldwin Panthers in West Michigan D League action. The Portagers led, 12-10 after the first period and had a 38-28 lead at the half-way point of the game. Onekama came out on fire in the second half and outscored the Panthers, 35-6. The leading scorer for the host Portagers was Olivia Bolthouse with 19 points, three rebounds, an assist and a block. Paige Rutowski had 17 points, eight rebounds, two steals and an assist. Stacey Keith contributed 12 points, nine rebounds, two assists, three steals and five blocks. Chelsea Miller had six points, four rebounds, an assist and a block. Kieran O'Connor had five points, six rebounds, 10 assists and two steals. Carmen Howard added four points and four rebounds. The Panthers were led by Shanice Tucker and Life Walker with 12 points each.
10/27 at Pentwater Playing a road game for the first time in a month may have contributed to a bad game. Thursday night, the Onekama Portagers traveled to Pentwater and had to play catch-up from the start. In the end, the Portagers dropped a 41-31 decision to the Pentwater Falcons. The home team led at the end of the first period, 10-6. Onekama was outscored 9-5 in the second period making the halftime lead for Pentwater, 19-11. The Falcons outscored the Portagers 22-20 in the second half. Leading the Portagers in scoring was Stacey Keith with 13 points, six rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Kieran O'Connor had nine points, three rebounds and four steals. Chelsea Miller added eight points, six rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Paige Rutowski rounded out scoring with one point, four rebounds, three steals and two blocks. The Portagers shot 11 of 18 from the charity stripe, while the Falcons were 7 of 15. Pentwater was led by Leah Blacktop with 12 points.
11/1 Manistee Catholic at home In order to be a successful team, you have to be able to handle the pressure when you have a lead late in a game. On Tuesday night, the Onekama Portgers did exactly that as they defeated the Manistee Catholic Sabers, 46-40 in non-league action. Photos by Lynn
