Lakers nip Portagers, 57-55. What a game it was on Tuesday night for the junior varsity teams of Bear Lake and Onekama. The visiting Lakers led through out the game until late in the fourth quarter. Bear Lake enjoyed a 23-17 lead after the first period and led at the half, 33-26. Bear Lake had a 12 point lead on the host Portagers in the second half. But, the Portagers came back charging and had a one point lead with two minutes to go in the contest. |
Bear Lake drained a huge three to put them up by two and that was the nail in the coffin as the Bear Lake Lakers coached by Gavin Matesich defeated the Onekama Portagers, 57-55. Onekama was led by Stacey Keith with 20 points. Chelsea Miller added 12 points. Kieran O'Connor chipped in with 11 points. Olivia Bolthouse tossed in six points. Carmen Howard had four points off the bench and Paige Rutowski contributed two points. The Lakers were led by Katie Dominguez with 22 points and Ashley Crawford had 19 points. ...Coach Harju |
