Night, Senior Highlights, and revenge were all on
the list as motivators for the Onekama Portagers as they
looked to conclude their season against the Northport
Wildcats. Coming out it was back and forth, but
heading into halftime Northport led 27-18. The
third quarter belonged to the Wildcats, but the Portagers
battled back in the fourth outscoring them
18-12. In the end it wasn't enough as Onekama
dropped to 6-12 overall with a final score of 53-40
. All night, the Portagers struggled offensively not able to find the bottom of the net. Players also found themselves in foul trouble early. |
Our
seniors, Bonnie Harthun and Viginia Ashworth, played with
a lot of heart and pride battling until
their sendoff with 33 seconds left in the
game. Bonnie finished 10 points, 3 steals, 2
assists, and 3 rebounds. Ginny finished
9 rebounds and 6 points. Marlee
Herkelrath finished as second leading scorer with 9
points, while Stephanie Ashworth pulled down 8 boards and
chipped in 7 points. Kelsey Acker led in steals with
