| Portagers Defeat Buckley Bears in
District Play November 15, 2005 |

| The
Portagers couldn't be more pleased with their performance
tonight against the Buckley Bears in the
semi-final game of Districts. It was a tough,
competitive game with neither team backing down.
The Portagers knew they had to win all four quarters,
which is exactly what they did, taking care of
business, winning 37-32. Teamwork was key and evident in tonight's victory. Players stepped up when the pressure was on, not losing composure. Offense and defense were solid and well balanced amongst all players. Marlee Herkelrath led scoring with 8 points. Bonnie Harthun and Ginny Ashworth had 7 apiece. |
Stephanie
Ashworth had 6 points while Kelsey Acker had 5
points. Alyssa Cole and Ronnie Maidens both
finished with 2 points. Rebounds were evenly
distributed with Stephanie Ashworth finishing with 8
rebounds, Marlee 7, Bonnie 6, Ginny 5 and Ronnie
4 boards. Bonnie Harthun picked off 4
steals as Kelsey Acker dished out 3 assists.
