Behavior
expectation or rule to be taught: Be Safe
Location for
expectation: Cafeteria
Rationale-
It is important to be safe with your peers and adults in school. The
cafeteria is a busy area. Being unsafe could lead to someone getting
hurt.
Note: Remind
students to use Bathroom B – new bathrooms by new gymnasium and to sit
on bottom in the chairs.
Provide
examples to help students better understand what
is and what is not the expected
behavior:

Joey pushed Ned when he tried to cut in the lunch line. Ned
called Joey a name. Joey realized he was wrong and
apologized. He also decided to go to the back of the line.
Sally wanted to sit at a table that was already full. She
tried to squeeze in but decided to ask her friends if they
would move with her to another table.
Danny ran to get into the lunch line first. He put his foot
out and tripped Sami. Sami fell on the floor. Danny
realized he hurt Sami. He apologized and helped her up. |

sent to the back of the line.

She kicked Danny and called him names. Both Danny and Sami
became known as bullies.

line up the “right way” as demonstrated by a small group of
teachers.
