Onekama's Fifth Grade



Yesterday we went on the Badger as our class trip. It was really fun. We got to go in the movie theater and arcade and gift shop. My friends and I said we were on a shopping spree. It was the best trip in school. I wish we could have stayed overnight. We got to sit on the top of the boat. We went to a museum. It was not as fun as the boat. I said it was my first time and it was the best. I got sick though on the way there and on the way back I was fine. Then we got home. That was the best day of my life (in school) Even though we got yelled at at the end because of running and screaming and we had to sit in the lounge. It was the best. ...Brittany H	The whole fifth grade class went on the Badger. The Badger is a big boat, but it's not what you would call a luxury boat. My class went to Manitowac. It's a pretty big city. We went to the Maritime Museum. That was really neat. This was all made possible because our class had several cake raffles, but that's kinda getting out of the picture. The fun thing was when I went up on deck and it was windy. The arcade was fun until I went broke. After that I got bored. I wouldn't want to do that again for a field trip. ...Alex

	Thursday, May 24, we went on the S.S. Badger to Manatiwoc, Wisconsin. We traveled across Lake Michigan. It took about four hours to get across the lake. At Manatiwoc there is a museum. It had a real submarine. On the way back we would jump up in the air and the wind would blow us back a few feet. ...William
I had fun on the Badger. We went to have fun and for a break. We went on a big boat. The class came on the trip. The big boat was called The Badger. I kind of got sick but besides that I had fun doing stuff. The trip was fun. We even went to a museum that showed us an old army boat. We even got to see the inside of it. I hope we go again. ...Mariah		My dad came along on the Badger trip. The Badger is a very big boat. The ride was four hours long. When we got to Wisconsin we went to a submarine. The SS Badger has two lunges, an arcade, a movie theater, kids playroom and more. On the way home I rode with Cady and her dad. We stopped and had ice cream. The Badger trip was awesome. ....Faith



When the Badger set sail my mom and I played Bingo and I won a hat. My favorite part about the Badger was when we were in Manitowack. We went in a museum and we got to go in a submarine. We even got to see a movie and it was about all the submarines that went to war. How they were built. On the way back was not the greatest because my mom got sea sick and she did not do much because she was so sick. I still had a blast even though my mom got sick because I played with my friends. ....John	There was Badger Bingo. I played and won twice. I got a certificate to get $10 off a $20 purchase in the Badger Boatique and a coin purse. It took about four hours to get to Wisconsin and when we got there we went to a museum. We took a tour of a submarine and there was also a water place. On the way back it was pretty much the same except for the fact that I got seasick. It took four hours to get back to Ludington and then another hour to get back to school. It was really fun and I hope to go on the Badger again. ...Claire

We got to do so much stuff on the Badger. We got the whole day to hang out with our friends. It took us 5 hours to get there and I spent a half hour at the museum at Manituwok. We played some games and got to go shopping. Me and the rest of the kids played games that were really fun. Sometimes you got hit in the sides of the boat if the boat hit a wave. There was so much stuff to buy and if you had 50 cents and one penny you can get the penny flattened and have something printed on it. It was fun to go on the SS Badger Trip. I wish I could go again. ...Meghan When the ship came to the dock in Wisconsin, we boarded the bus and went to a submarine museum. The submarine was cool! 80% of the sub was activated, but was turned off, but could still work. The water part was fun because you could make your own boat, make a soo locks, catch fish and a lot of other stuff....Sierra
