Creating our pioneer village helped us realize how much work the pioneers did.

Celebrating Pioneer Days

Buildings

We went to a plase called Chitendin. The first thing we did was that we started our houses. We used templets to make windows and doors. We uesed the following: dollwle rods, gravle, bark, card bord, and sticks to bild our houses. Then we whent to make our bicets and butter. It was cool to make bicets. We had a bowle of flower we pored cups of baking soda in. Then we addd salt. We added milk and we mixed it. We rolled them with a rolling pin. And shaped them with a cup. We baked them. then we made butter we had whiping crem and shok it in a jar. then after a wile we had butter. I thingk they had a hard like because of so much work.

Pioneers had to work work work
by Katie

My day went great. The first thing I worked on was our buildings. I liked working on houses, biscuits, and butter. We built outhouses, houses, barns, blacksmith and a general store and other things. I think Pioneer's life would be or get boring after a wile. Think about it No electricle stuff around no light balbs. We made biscuits out of flower, milk, backing soda and some thing els. We made butter out of wiping cream, salt and something els. They all tasted great. The biscuits took 20 minutes to bake and the butter took 10 or 15 minuts to make. One other thing about a Pioneer life is that you should think about their life. Think about years living a life like that. They didn't have tools, drinks, food, other things like us. Another thing is that they had to work work work and to travel they didn't get to travel in cars and trucks and other things. They had to travel in a covered wagon.

Building Houses was Best
Kyle

We went to the Chittenden. We made houses, butter and biskets. They were all fun to make. I liked the houses the best. We made houses then biskets then butter. I made a general store. I think it looked good. The store had bark on the roof. Also the porch was popcicle sticks. The front was just wood. The biskets were fun to. We had crisco, salt, milk, baking powder. There was flourer in the owl. We mixed it all together. We cut them out with cupt. Then we put them in the oven. for 15 min. Then we made butter. We put wipping cream and milk and shook it for a long time. When we were done mixing it we drained the milk. Also added salt then we were done. I think the pioneers had a hard life. All that stuff took a long time.
