On Monday and Friday Mrs. Eldridge's class goes out side and goes sledding on the Onekama School hill. It is fun to go sledding because you go really fast. There is a jump at the bottom of the hill and when you come down and go over the jump, you fly through the air. I like to go down the hill with my friends. the more people you go down with, the faster you go. Sledding is really fun. ....Katherine
We have one great school hill!
When we go sledding we take about six or seven people and make a chain and go down the hill. Then if we made it we would get more people to go down the hill. Sometimes on Friday the fourth grade is there so there aren't as many sleds to go sledding. Then we have to wait. ...Jordan
This is a picture of our school hill. Yesterday, we linked the whole class (by their arms) minus two people (Chris and Kelli) and went down the hill. We made it too! I think that the reason we didn't quite make it was the fact that we kept on going sideways and we didn't balance the weight as much as we should have. We were only ten feet from the bottom of the hill too! We might make it next time. ...Tim
Sledding is fun! When we go out for recess we get to go sledding. We have a big hill to go sledding on. Sometimes about half of our class will all get together and make a big pile and then go down the hill. It hurts a little bit but it is fun! We do this every other day if we are lucky. I don't bring my snow pants hat or gloves to school so that means I get wet. My teacher says that we are old enough so we can make our own choices. Every time we go out side I come back in side with wet pants. It is not fun when you get snow up your pants. Then your knees get numb, but they get warm after a while. We have goal posts down at the bottom of the hill and one day after school a kid hit one of them and got some stitches in his head. It sounds painful I am glad that it was not me. Now we have hay and mats in front of them! I like sledding on our school hill! ...Jake
