Sabers and Portagers Meet again
-- and this time it wasn't football

After two back to back losses on the football field, the MCC Sabers came to town looking for revenge and when the final horn sounded, the Sabers completed their task, with a 42 to 30 opening season win. Quinn Matthews led the scoring attack for the Portagers with 11 points, followed by Joe Eno and Bryce Reckow with 6 pts and 4 pts respectfully.

Austin Greiner, Derek Hobart, Jacob Florian and Josh Jacobs each added a basket and John Curtin rounded out the scoring with one free throw. The Portagers will have a chance for redemption in two weeks when they play the Sabers again, this time on their court.

In the interim, they'll be honing their skills for their next two games against Brethren on the 12th and Bear Lake on the 13th.
