Nov. 12 at Brethren 5:00 Onekama 41 - Brethren 23 The Portagers took the opening tip and were on the board that quickly. Showing a lot of speed and power, they shutdown the Bobcat offense and wrapped up 18 points at the end of the 1st QTR. The game continued at the same pass, allowing Onekama to post their first win of the season. Quinn Matthews once again led the scoring with 10 points, along with 5 steals. Joe Eno controlled things down low with 9 pts and Jacob Florian added another 3 baskets, but it was the play down underneath the basket that really made the difference, with Florian pulling down a team high 11 rebounds (he also had 5 steals), followed close behind by Eno, Brandon Bohannon and Curtis McKinney with 7 boards each. Other scores came from McKinney (4pts), Bohannon (2pts), Bryce Reckow (4pts), Derek Hobart (2pts), Austin Greiner (2pts) and John Curtin (2pts).
Nov. 13 Home vs.
Bear Lake 5:00
Bear Lake 29 - Onekama 25  In a game that was up and down for 4 QTR's, it was the Lakers that came out on top in the final seconds. Behind a very strong defense and some impressive shots down below, the Bear Lake team gave Onekama a real challenge, but one, they all believe they can and will handle when they meet again. The majority of the battle seemed to take place down low, and even though Joe Eno was able to pull down 16 rebounds, 3 steals, plus a team high 8 points, it wasn't enough to stop the determined Laker team. Jacob Florian and Brandon Bohannon also added another 6 points each along with 6 and 4 rebounds respectfully. Quinn Matthews finished out the Portager scoring with 5 point and had 4 steals.
Nov. 17 at MCC  5:00 MCC 38 - Onekama 27  With the help of a strong defense and control of the boards, the Sabers once again came out on top with a 38-27 win over Onekama. Jacob Florian led the Portagers in both scoring (13 pts) and rebounds (8). Bryce Reckow and Derek Hobart chipped in with two baskets each and Quinn Matthews, Austin Griener and Parker Sternberger all scored as well. Matthews, Josh Jacobs and Curtis McKinney also contributed to the rebound total with 5, 3 and 3 boards respectfully.
Nov. 19 at Bear Lake Onekama 46 - Bear Lake 38   Onekama finally came to town ready to play Wednesday night and they showed both the Bear Lake players and the all the fans in the stands just how good they can beAdditional Report plus Photos
