Onekama Middle School Sports 2007-2008

Portagers post another big win over the
Baldwin Panthers 28-16.

Quinn Matthews lead the scoring attack with 3 TD's, followed by Adrian Norman with 1 TD along with a conversion and Tyler Fogarty added an additional point after. Behind a strong offense line, the Portager backfield racked up a total of 272 yards on the ground. Matthews finished the game with 125 yds, Norman added 55 yds, Fogarty had 48yds and Scott Wethy along with Jacob Florian contributed 26 yds and 18 yds respectfully.

In his linebacker position, Fogarty lead the defense with 13 solo tackles and at the other linebacker spot, Florian had 8 takedowns. Up front, Tanner Kott kept continual pressure on the Panther backfield and ended the game with 6 tackles, two for losses, he also batted down a pass. At defensive end, Austin Griener and Josh Santa each had 3 tackles including a sack for a 10 yard loss by Griener. ~Coach Matthews

Dear Mrs. Eldridge
My football season is going good so far. I play a little bit of running back and corner back. It is alot of fun. Are record is 2-1. We beat Baldwin and M.C.C.. We lost to Brethern. I like my coaches a lot too.

Dear Mrs. Eldridge,
I like the football pictures and there was a lot of me. There were some cool pictures of me and some other players on the team tackling. I liked the picture when I was running in midair. I think foot ball is really fun and I enjoy looking at the pictures and reading the paragraphs about our game.

Middle School Sports for 07-08

Our game against MCC was really fun. One of the first plays I went in I got a sack on the Qb. Then the play after I tackled the running back. Tyler, Quinn,and Adrian also had a lot of tackles. Then we beat them 40-14. I am Tight End. Me and Steven did a good job of containing.
