Onekama Portagers 36
vs.
Brethren Bobcats 0

The Portager's finish the season with another impressive win 36-0 over inter-county rival Brethren and go "UNDEFEATED" with a 7-0 record. The most impressive part of the season was the fact that the defense only allowed (2) TD's all season and they both came in a game that we eventually won 48-14. The other six games (see below) were all "SHUT OUT" wins... great job defense!

Onekama 48 - Brethren 0
Onekama 48 - Manistee Blue 14
Onekama 32 - MCC 0
Onekama 12 - MCC 0
Onekama 24 - Manistee Gold 0
Onekama 22 - Manistee Gold 0
Onekama 36 - Brethren 0

The final game gave everyone a chance to shine... which they did! After winning the opening coin toss, as usual Onekama elected to kick off and rely on their defense to get them the ball back, which they did and the offense wasted no time putting the first points on the scoreboard. After a long gain by Quinn Matthews on an outside sweep, Bryce Reckow pitched it again to Matthews who then handed it off to Logan Fogarty on a reverse that fooled everyone and Fogarty scampered 30 yds for the TD and Reckow rolled out on a QB keeper for the 2 pt conversion. The defensive line made up of Michael Ennis, Josh Jacobs, Derek Hobart, John Girven and Austin Griener along with LB's Jacob Morales, John Schoedel and Erik Johnson and DB's Matthews and Fogarty they kept the pressure on the backfield and four plays later it was our ball again and no time was wasted as Matthews took the ball up the middle for a 40 yd TD run before the end of the 1st QTR.
The 2nd QTR was a repeat of the first, with the exception of a couple of minor mistakes (turnovers) that kept us out of the end zone the team kept the pressure on Brethren and it wasn't long before Matthews took another quick pitch from Reckow and as quick as that we had another TD and along with a conversion by Reckow the half ended 22-0. After a good run back by Bryson Waller on the second half kick off, the offense took over again and behind strong blocking up front from Brandon Bohannon, Josh Santa, Cody Brown, John Curtin, Bryson Waller, Josh Jacobs and Shane Peterson the hole was opened and Matthews was in for another TD and Jacob Morales added the 2pt conversion. After a short kick off that was bobbled by Brethren, Erik Johnson picked up the loose ball and the offense was on the field again. This time it was Mike Ennis on the scoring end of the drive with a blast up the middle for a run of 30 yds and the final TD of the game.
