Onekama wins one; loses one in tri-meet

BEAR LAKE — The Bear Lake volleyball team won both of its
matches in a tri-meet on Thursday while West Michigan D League rival
Onekama finished with a split.

meet, which the Lakers swept 25-23, 25-10, 25-11. |
Both teams beat Buckley in best-of-three matches as Bear
Lake won 25-10, 26-24 and Onekama won in 23-25, 25-22, 15-12.
“I thought they did a good job,” Onekama coach Sherri
Slater said of her team’s split. “I thought everybody worked real hard.”
Onekama’s Emily Bergren was 25 of 26 at the service line
with nine aces to go with four kills. Also for the Portagers, Alexis
Tribfelner had six kills and five aces, Kelly Koon had 13 digs and 10
kills, Kaylan Fitch was 18 of 20 from the service line with three aces
and three kills and Anna Brown had 18 assists and four kills.
For Bear Lake, Hannah Harrington had 20 service points
with 10 kills, Emileigh Ferguson had 20 points with seven aces and 27
kills, and Jill Johnson had 12 points with five aces and two kills. |
