Portagers Roll

ONEKAMA — The Onekama girls basketball team rolled to a 73-24 West Michigan D League win against Baldwin on Tuesday night.

Jennica Mathieu scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Portagers (7-9, 6-7 WMD), Tawny Kott had 14 points, Danielle Ward scored 10 to go with 13 rebounds while Kaylan Fitch had eight points.

 The Portagers scored 27 points in the first quarter and led 41-14 at the half.

“All in all, they played pretty good,” said Onekama coach Nathan Bradford. “Everybody scored, everybody played a lot and it was a good team victory.”

The Onekama junior varsity team beat Traverse City Homeschool 53-38. Kayla Kosiboski led the Portagers with 20 points while Caitlin Zielinski scored 13.
