LAKE LEELANAU — The Onekama baseball team had to settle for a loss and a tie in a doubleheader at Lake Leelanau St. Mary on Thursday.

The Portagers dropped the opener 7-4 and the second game was knotted at 5 when it was called after four innings due to darkness.

Nolan Miller took the loss on the mound in the opener while Joe Eno had two hits and two RBIs and Morgan Ledford went 1-for-3.

Eno and Stephen Verrett each had a hit and drove in a run in the second game while Curtis McKenney had a hit and scored a run.

“We’re playing better defense and we’re putting the ball in play better,” said Onekama coach John Neph. “We’re getting better.”
