| Tonight the Lady Portagers fell to the Mesick bulldogs 15-25, 18-25, 25-21, 14-25. The Portagers struggled tonight with our serving. The team played tough but just couldn't pull the team together for the win. We had a lot of long volleys, with strong hitting and blocking on the net, but the Bulldogs just played stronger. Senior Ronnie Maidens led the team with 10 pts, 51 digs and 18 sets. Senior Meghan Nesburg scored 5 pts. for her team and was also the team libero, she was a very strong player for us in the back row. Senior Stephanie Ashworth knocked down 4 pts., 19 passes and 14 hits on the net. Junior Alyssa Cole also scored 4 pts., 18 digs and 15 spikes on the net with 9 assists. | Sophomore Stacey Keith was the teams top setter with 42, she also scored 4 pts., 3 spikes and was the team top blocker with 4, 30 digs and 6 tips. Sophomore Chelsea Miller scored 3 pts, 11 digs, 8 spikes and 3 assists. Kelsey Acker also helped her team with 2 pts., 9 digs and 1 block with 5 assists. Sophomores Paige Rutowski and Olivia Bolthouse also scored 1 pt. each and helped their team in the back row. Senior Marlee Herkelrath helped her team 5 digs and 2 spikes and 3 assists. The team comes back in the new year to start our conference season. I look forward to our season and am very impressed with what I have seen out of this team already.
