The Portagers dropped a pair of games to the Sabres 12-9 and 15-0. The Portagers could not get anything going at the plate and only managed 5 hits total in the two games.

Onekama's Fields were dedicated May 25th.

With plenty of hard work and community support the land north of Onekama was transformed into both a baseball and softball facility.  The dedication was held May 25. Superintendent Kevin Hughes thanked the many people involved in the endeavor. Hughes stated, "We jobbed this out and the community paid for the lion's share of it. But the finishing touches, the final work, a lot of the stuff that could be done by our people, they stepped up and did it. That was nice. Now they have some ownership of the field and that's what we want. That really helped."

"Numerous people donated their Sundays in the spring to prepare the field for our first game April 30 against Bear Lake. You name it, we were doing it," said Onekama athletic director and softball coach Duane Keith. "It was a whole community effort. Even from people that didn't have kids on the teams."

The previous baseball field was adequate but showing its age. Meanwhile the girls had to be bussed to other schools to play at their home games. "The girls really take pride in having their own field. Now we just need a new gym!
