Monday night in WMD softball action the Onekama Portagers defeated the Baldwin Panthers in Baldwin 20-4 and 16-1. Sophomore pitcher Stacey Keith was the victor in both games pitching 2 complete games giving up only 7 hits and 1 walk in the two games, striking out 7. “ Stacey pitched awesome in both contests. Her control was great and our infield of Stephanie Ashworth, Katie Prielipp, Sherese Revolt and Kieran O’Connor played great defense behind her”. Leading the offensive attack for the Portagers was Stephanie Ashworth with a grand slam home run, batting 3-4 with 7 RBI.

Kieran O’Connor added a double and 2 singles and 4 RBI, Sherese Revolt with a pair of doubles and 5 RBI’s. Others Portagers adding base hits were Stacey Keith and Chelsea Miller. Newcomers to the varsity team who added their first hits were Paige Rutowski with a double and 2 RBI’s, Kalani Buckner, Sarah Eipperle and Liz Schodel all adding base hits.The Portagers are 2-0 in the WMD league and 2-2 overall.
