Onekama Portager Girls In the first home game of the season with a nice sized crowd, the Portagers came away with a big victory over the Pentwater Falcons with a score of 37-34. Down the stretch the Portagers demonstrated great poise to maintain their lead despite suffering from foul trouble and injuries. |
Leading the Portagers to a third straight win was floor leader Bonnie Harthun with 9 points and 10 rebounds, and Marlee Herklerath with 13 key rebounds and 6 points. Ronnie Maidens ran the floor well contributing 7 points. Ginny and Stephanie Ashworth worked hard creating shots opportunities inside. Ginny finished with 4 points and Stephanie with 6 points. Kelsey Acker drained a nice 3 after freeing herself from defenders. Alyssa Cole played very aggressive on both ends of the floor finishing with 4 steals and 2 points. The Portagers next game will be Tuesday night at home against MCE. Come out and support the team to a 4th straight win. |
