Cross-Country Meet August 23 Another Cross-Country season got started Saturday morning for the Bear Lake/Onekama/MCC boys and girls teams as they took part in the Benzie Central Invitational with 12 teams competing in Division 3 & 4. We are a Division 4 school. In order to run as a team you need 5 runners and each team can have up to 7 runners the first 5 to finish count and the team with the lowest scores wins. Each member runs 3.1 miles. The boys will run first this year. |

For the Girls they took home the Runner Up Trophy finishing 2nd behind Division 3 school Elk Rapids and beating one of their main foes this year Traverse City St. Francis. 1st Elk Rapids 66 points; 2nd BL/OHS/MCC 87 points; and close behind 3rd place Traverse City St. Francis 92 points. At Benzie they gave medals out to the top 30 finishers in the Varsity boys & girls. At the sound of the gun at 9:00 a.m. the boys were off on a great morning for a CC meet. The BL/OHS/MCC boys cruised to a easy 1st place finish and Trophy with all five top finishers getting a medal First BL/OHS/MCC 50 points; 2nd Pine River 92 points; 3rd Belding 93 points.
