Sometimes, the "meeting of the minds" takes place at the dugout. Coach Fenstermacher did not want this to get any further out of control.

Ashley Peterson threw nice pitches tonight for OHS.

"SteeeeRike!" but, catcher Danielle LaRue was right there to back her up if needed.

Ashley kept pitchin' them as well as catching and throwing to first for outs when they came her way.

Walkerville vs Onekama

1st game Walkerville 15-13, 2nd game Onekama 9-7

The lady Portagers win the nightcap game to split with Walkerville at the East Lake field. Walkerville won the first game 13-15. Onekama had the lead and should have had the win, but Onekama errors allowed Walkerville to rebound and take the lead. Coach Fenstermacher had a "meeting of the minds" and the girls pulled together to come back from 7 under in the sixth and final Inning. Ashely Peterson struck out 4 wildcats. Jach, Harthun and Carlson all had doubles.

Onekama won the second game 9-7. Stevie Gillespie pitched the 2nd game and struck out one. They were tied 4 all at the bottom of the 4th and at the bottom of the 5th it was 6-4, OHS. Walkerville pulled ahead by one, 7-6, but the girls answered that with 3 more runs making the score 9-7OHS. They held them off, getting them out 1,2,3 to seal the win. Stevie Gillespie was the winning pitcher for the game.

The Girls play MCC tomorrow 4-23-04 at the 1st St. Beach Field in Manistee.

Stevie was the winning pitcher in the second game. She struck out one tonight. Her pitches are fast and furious and give batters a hard time.

The girls hit many good balls tonight, giving Walkerville things to do "out where the dandelions grow!"

When Erika had to play up closer, Bonnie had to help cover 3rd. The girls knew they had to pull it together if they wanted to secure the win.

Mrs. Carlson and the Ump watch as the ball flies down the line past 3rd base. She does an excellent job of keeping stats for the games.
