Joe's Colorado Pictures

Thank you Chris and Joe for taking time out to capture the team's training out at Keystone. While you were out there, State was still a dream and a goal...one that you have all accomplished now and will be heading to State Finals on 2-23-04!

<--Huge clouds started rolling in over the peaks. Could they be bringing the much-wanted snow?

Joe said the teepee really didn't serve a purpose that he was aware of. But, there it stood, near the lift departure at the top.

They had their choice of riding up on the Gondola or the chair lift. Below, you can see condos and some of the Keystone Village.

Joe took this photo from inside the Gondola. Those clouds left some fresh snow, which meant POWDER!

Joe took a photo of the short training course that they used to fine tune their technical skills on.

Monika and Coach Mathieu catch some of the view from the top.

Coach Miller rests at the table as Chris looks at the view through the window of their condo wanting to get out there.

Chris and Stephanie grab a bite to eat. Burned a lot of calories while they were in training out there.

Wiley looks like he wishes they would hurry up so they can hit the runs.

When it decides to snow out in Colorado, it usually dumps! Making the Gondola ride a nice idea....

Monika looks just as excited in the Gondola as she did last year on the lift as she neared the peak.

Look at those mountains! And could that cloud above be bringing snow? Only a 15 inch base so far...

Chris gets his much needed potassium also.

Chris, Curt and Chip discuss what they will be doing next.

Race training at the high altitudes had the team members more exhausted then they would have thought before going out there. They took short breaks to rest from time to time the first couple of days.

The clock on the wall says 7 am...looks like coach was sticking to the itinerary! The breakfast of champions was already eaten and they were getting ready for another days training.

The team members get their gear on. By now, they have eaten, ran, and did house hold duties.

October, Dryland Training

Stephanie looks back as Wiley wonders why everyone is always taking pictures of him.

Well, I am relieved that the team chose to come back as scheduled! By looking at the view of those mountains, I bet it was hard to leave.

Coach Mathieu just can't seem to soak enough of the view of the mountains in! Chris felt the same way though, and Joe can't wait to get back there again!
