Barack Obama

    Barack Obama was born on August 4, 1961. In Honolulu, Hawaii. He got married to Michelle Robinson in 1992. They had two kids. There names were Maylia and Sasha. Sasha was born in 2001. The older Maylia was born in 1998 Sasha was born in 2001. Sasha’s real name is Natasha. He went to college and graduated from Columbia University. He graduated from Harvard law school.
    He first went through Harvard law school. Then became a lawyer in 1988. He was the first black president of the United States of America. He was also the first African American editor of the Harvard law review. He was elected in 2009 and 1990. His father was also named Barack Obama. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in the month of October 2009. He was electid to the Illinois state senate in 1996, 1998, and 2002. He lost the election in 2000. He wrote two books Dreams From My Father and The Audacity of Hope. His parents divorced when he was only two years old. When Obama was in school he noticed a lot of racism he saw that there was no black people in the Sears Roebuck Christmas Catlogs. Also that Santa was white. His mother was Ann Dunham. He was a really amazing guy.

 

George Washington Carver

Mr. Carver is the best inventor. George was born in slavery 1864 near the Diamond Grove. George did not get married and had no children. George went to Simpson College. George Carver’s occupation is inventor, botanist and chemist. Sadly George Washington Carver died January. 5, 1943 at Tuskegee/ Ala. George Carver lived a long life. George Carver died at the age of 79. George carver had a rough life. He made his way to be a inventor.

    George Carver made all sorts of things with the peanut and others. George invented over 300 products from the peanut. 178 products from the sweet potatoes. George’s master came from Germany Moses Carver. Moses purchased George’s parents Mary and Giles from William Mcginnis on October 9, 1855, for $700. George had ten sisters and one bother but they all died. George’s father died right after before George was born. While George was a baby slave traders kidnapped George and his mother. Only George returned to the plantation. George Washington Carver was a inspiring man.

 

 

Donovan McNabb

    Donovan McNabb was born on November 25, 1976 in Chicago, Illinois. McNabb’s wife is Raquel Ann Sarah Nurse. He has four children: Alexis, Donovan Jr., Sariah, and Devin James. Alexis was born in 2004. Sariah and Donovan Jr. were born in 2008. Devin James was born in 2009. Mr. McNabb went to Syracuse from 1994-1998. At Syracuse he got a degree in speech communications. McNabb is an NFL quarterback, and became a free agent during the 2011 season. The Eagles, Redskins, and Vikings had him as their quarterback. McNabb hasn’t died.                                                                               
    In 2005, McNabb became the only African American quarterback in the Super Bowl. The Patriots beat McNabb and the Eagles, 24-21. At Syracuse, he was a walk-on for the basketball team. The team was coached by legendary coach Jim Boheim. McNabb was named the Big East Player of the Year three times in college. McNabb  was a rookie in the NFL in 1999. He was drafted 2nd overall. In 2004, he won NFC Offensive Player of the Year and NFC Player of the Year. There was a large possibility he might have played for the Bears in 2011, but they decided it was too late to sign him. Donovan McNabb was a great African American quarterback and a great role model for all football players.
 

Dave Chapple

    Mr.Chapple is a very funny black comedian. Dave Chapple’s full name is David Khari Webber Chapple. He was born  August 24th, 1973 in Washington D.C.. He hasn’t died yet. He married his wife Elaine in 1992 and have been married ever since. He has two sons named Sylay and Ibrahim. He went to Dukes Ellington School of Arts. He was a film actor in 1993-2003. Now he is a T.V. actor and a comedian. Dave Chapple has been very successful.

Dave Chapple is a famous black comedian. His first appence was i 1993. In men in tights and Robin Hood. In 2003 he got his own show. Called The Chapple Show. He got two Emmy nominations. He was  inspired by The Cosby Show. He has been to the Apollo theatre. He got booed offstage. At an early age he was in the movie Nutty Professorial in 1996. Then he was in Half baked. His parents separated  when he was six. Dave Chapple was a great African American man.

 

 

 Thomas Sowell

An extraordinary African American is Thomas Sowell. Thomas was born June 30, 1930 in Gastonia, North Carolina. Thomas didn’t even get to see his father, he died shortly before he was born. His mother already had four children so Thomas’s  great aunt adopted him. Thomas Sowell had gotten married twice.  His first wife was Alma Jean, they never had any children.  Thomas remarried in the early 1980’s.  Thomas attended Stuyvesant High School, but he dropped out when he was 17 because of family problems.  After Thomas finished High School by taking night classes, he went on to many different colleges.  He wrote books on economics and a book about kids Late Talkers.

Thomas Sowell’s amazing role in African American History was that he had black meeting in San Fransico.  100 Republicans came and they tried to reorganize federal programs.  After this, President Reagan said that he would put African Americans on his cabinet for the first time.  Thomas did not want to be on the cabinet.  Other amazing facts are that Thomas Sowell was in 150 newspapers around the country and he got to talk to President Reagan.  Thomas Sowell did wonderful and amazing things.

 

 

Condoleezza Rice

    This report is on an incredible African American named Condoleezza Rice. Condoleezza Rice doesn’t have a middle name, but is known as Condi to her friends. Condoleezza Rice was born on the 14th of November in 1954 in Birmingham, Alabama. Quinn, Katiah, and Marcel are the three girls she adopted. At five years old Condoleezza could read , she went to grammar school for second grade in Titus ville, Alabama in the year of 1961. Condoleezza went to St. Mary’s a private Catholic school after she moved in 1968. By the age of fifteen Condoleezza graduated because she completed so many classes. The colleges and schools Condoleezza Rice went to were the University of Denver, the University of Notre Dame, Graduate School of International Studies at the University of Denver, and Stanford University. She was hired to be a professor at Stanford after her long years of college. Condoleezza Rice works as the 66th Secretary of State.
 

Condoleezza Rice’s  role in African American History is she serves as the first black to be the Secretary of State for the United States. She also was working in the White House with President Bush. Some radiant facts about Condoleezza Rice are she was the first African American to be the Secretary of State. Another spectacular fact is she started playing piano at the age of three.  Some one of a kind facts are that Condoleeza heard and felt the explosion at Birmingham’s Baptist Church where at least four people were killed. One of those in the explosion was her classmate.  She  also served as the special assistant to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who gave information to the president about war in 1968. The book Condoleezza Rice wrote was called No Higher Honor.  The last amazing fact is the religion that Condoleezza is is Presbyterian. Condoleezza Rice was a life changing African American.

 

 

Micheal Jordan

Micheal Jordan was born February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn New York. Hes nickname was air Jordan. He is the son of Deloris Jordan who worked in banking. He’s dad James R Jordan Sr. was an equipment supervisor. He had two Brothers named Larry, James R Jr, and younger sister Roslyn. Micheal was married to Juanita Vanoy in 1989. All there children where born in December. He entered on a basketball scholarship to the University of Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a freshman he was soon named ACC freshman of the year after he averaged 13.4 points per game. He was selected by the ACC All-American first team in 1983-1984 seasons. After winning the collage player of the year. Jordan then left the University of Carolina and got selected to the Chicago Bulls. Then return to North Carolina to complete his degree in 1986. Then he won NBA player of the year.

Micheal Jordan’s role in African American History is being NBA most valuable player of the year. Micheal is 1 of 50 greatest players in NBA Black History. He also won two slam dunk contest titles in 1987-1988. Two Olympic gold medals in 1989, 1992. Micheal Jordan scored 38279 total points in 1 season and playoffs. He also got ten NBA scoring titles in 1987-1993 and 1996-98. Then he won one rookie of the year. He scored over 30 million points in hes NBA career. He retired in 2003 at the age of 40. Micheal Jordan was an amazing athlete!     

Calvin Johnson

    Calvin Johnson is an extraordinary football player. He plays for the Detroit Lions. His full name is Calvin Johnson Jr. his nickname is Megatron. He was born on September 29 1985 in Newman Georgia. He is still alive. He has played NFL football from 2007-present for the lions. His position is Wide Receiver. In 2011 he was in the top 3 wide receivers. He was number 1 for awhile. He is really good.
    Calvin Johnson is contributing to black history by working hard and getting awards for. Best Wide Receiver in the nation. 2011 receiving yards leader. ACC rookie of the year 2004. Finally ACC player of the year 2006. Two interesting facts are he was 6.4 in high school. He is also 2x pro bowler and 2x all pro. Calvin Johnson was 6 foot in middle school. He is a top 5 Wide receiver. Calvin Johnson is an amazing football player.
   

 

Barry Sanders

    Barry Sanders was a phenomenal running back. He was born in Wichita,Kansas USA. He was born July 16,1968. His current age is 43 years old. He was married to Lauren Campbell. He had three children. Lauren was Step mother to one child. He was Educated at Oklahoma State. He played football at Oklahoma State. Barry Sanders dad went to Oklahoma State. Barry Sanders Occupation was playing football.

    Barry Sanders set alot of records playing high School and college and NFL football. Barry Sanders probably inspired blacks to play football. He was a black running. He was a black that had the third best record in the NFL. He was drafted in 1989. It was round one. He was the third pick. he played for the Detroit Lions. He was a NFL rushing Champion four times in 1990,1994,1996,and 1997. He played from 1989 to 1998. He was NFL Offensive rookie of the year in 1989. A single season he rushed for 2,000 yards. Barry Sanders was one of the best African American running backs.

 

 

Louis Armstrong

    Louis Armstrong was a famous Jazz musician. He was born August fourth,1901 New Orleans Louisiana. When he was young his parents gave him to his grandmother. Then he had to go to the Waif’s House for Boys. As he grown older he began to learn to play the Cornet. After he was fully grown he went to work on a steam ship as a coal man. When he quit that job he became a musician. He liked the musician and kept the job. Sadly he died on July 6,1971 caged corona, Queens, New York city. Loise Armstrong was a great musician
    Louis Arm strong worked on a steam ship as a coal man. He was a singer and a film star. His last hit was What a wonderful world. He all so played with the tuxedo brass band. Louis Armstrong was one of the leading Jazz musician. One of the concert’s that he played in had over 100,000 fans in 1951.Loise Arm strong reached the top 10 of the LP chart. He spoke against racial discrimination. His parents names were Mary Albert and William Arm strong. His nickname was Satchmo. Louis Armstrong was a very good African American musician.   
   

 

Rosa Parks

Rosa Parks  was born on February 4,1913,she was born in Louise McCall Parks. Her death in 1957. She died in Washing D.C.. She didn’t go to school. She didn’t go to school Because she was Black. She fitted for the civil rights. She also worked for Martin Luther King Junior. She did a good thing. She told the truth.   

In December 21,1995 in Montgomey ,Alabama she boycotted the bus for her life. She wired with Martin Luther King Jr. She made black people not to raid of the bus, she went to gall because  she raid in the front of the bus and a white  person didn’t have a blast to ride. She didn’t a retry went that. Rosa Park was a small girl. She was poor. Her Mather was ill. Another same bus system nine months before parks. Parks won the NAACP highest a ward in 1979. She is the Mather of civil Rights. Rosa Parks got $1800 per month.  Rosa Parks changed the world.

 

 

Sojouner Truth

Sojourner Truth was a self given name. Sojourner Truth’s real name is Isabella Baumfree. She married a man named Thomas and had five children. Her education was that she had no education. She is a labor activist. She is known for her famous speech” Ain’t I a women.” She died November 26,1883 Battle Creek, Michigan. She escaped her slave life and freed other slaves. One of her occupations was that she gave speeches. Sojourner was one of the first black women speech givers.

    Sojourner Truth was one of the best speech givers. She encouraged people to fight for freedom. She freed slaves from cruel owners. She gave speeches about racial inequalities She told fellow slaves that they deserved better. She said”Even though I’m black no woman should be treated like me.”She gave speeches until she died on November 26,1883. One of her speeches was “Even though we may look different we are no different from you.” Sojourner’srole in African American history was giving speeches to fight for civil rights.

 
 

Madame C.J. Walker

     Madame C.J. Walker was an extraordinary woman. She was born on December 23, 1867 Delta Louisiana. Ms.Walker’s real name is Sara Breedlove. She changed her name because she was married three times, and her last husband’s last name was Walker. When Ms.Walker was a child there were not any schools for African Americans. So she learned when she was a slave. Her occupation was selling hair products for African American woman and a business woman. None of her products are in business anymore. A lot of people loved her hair care products.
    Madame C.J. Walker’s role in African American history was making hair products for African American woman. A while later a man gave her some formula for curing baldness. Ms. Walker was inducted into the Achievement of the U.S Hall of Fame at the museum of Science and Industry in Chicago 1992. Madame C.J. Walker’s products were sold throughout  the United States. Also did you know Ms. Walker used to be bald? Sadly Ms. Walker died May 25, 1919 at age 51 in Irvington, New York. She was a very awesome person. At her funeral she was called the wealthiest woman alive. May Madam C.J. Walker rest in peace.

 

Matthew Henson

    Matthew Alexander Henson was an amazing African American. He was born on August 8, 1866 in Nanjemoy, Maryland. Matthew Henson Married Lucy Ross in 1906, but they had no children together. He fathered his only son Anauakag with a Inuit women named Akatingwah on an expedition in 1906. After 1909 he never saw either of them ever again, but did receive news about them from other explorers. Matthew Henson was a explorer and a sailor. At the age of twelve he was sent to the sea as a cabin boy and was for the next several years. As a cabin boy he sailed around the world visiting places China, Japan, the Phillipenes, France, Africa, and southern Russia. He educated himself and became a skilled navigator. Matthew Henson lived a great life until his death on March 9, 1955 in The  Bronx, New York at the age of 88.
    Matthew Henson has a great role in African American History. He was the first African American to reach the North Pole. In 1909 he went with Robert Peary on their eighth expedition to the North Pole. He was one of the final team of six that were going to go to the North Pole. Before they got there Robert Peary became exhausted, ill, and had frozen toes. He sent Henson on ahead as a scout. He then went on to plant the American Flag. Some interesting facts about him are his mom died when he was two and his dad died when he was eleven. He also wrote and published his own book called A Negero Explorer at the North Pole. Matthew Henson was an extraordinary African American.

 

Lonnie G. Johnson

    Mr. Johnson’s real name is Lonnie George Johnson. He was born on October sixth, 1949 Mobile, Alabama. He is currently 50 years old. Lonnie G. Johnson is not currently married. Mr. Johnson has no kids ether. Lonnie G. Johnson went to Willamson High School, Tuskegee University. Tuskegee University is an all black school. Lonnie G. Johnson is an engineer and an inventor. He was also in the air force.
