In May I went to Mackinac Island with my class. We took a bus to Mackinac City. Then we went on a ferry. Our ferry was called the Sheplers Ferry. I took a lot of pictures and videos on the ferry.

When we got to the island we took a carriage tour. Our drivers name was Joe. He said that the state park there was the first state park in Michigan. He also said that the whole island is a National Park and was the second National Park in America.

Then we went to the Grand Hotel. On the way Dalron's grandpa got a taxi and we raced him and me and Jackson beat him. We ate there too. The buffet is 100 feet long and 25 feet of that is desert.

Have you ever been to Mackinac Island? Well I have. It was 4:00 when I got up so it was kind of hard. But I still made it to the bus in time. The ride to Mackinac was over 3 hours long. Most of the time the ride was boring.

When we got to the ferry docking we had to wait 15 minutes before we could board the ferry. It took 15 minutes to get to the Island. When we got off the ferry we took a carriage ride around the Island. It took us one hour to go around the Island. One of the things I saw was the oldest lilac tree. The tree was over 300 years old.

After the carriage ride we went to eat at the Grand Hotel. After we toured the hotel we got to see Fort Mackinac. When we got to Fort Mackinac we got to see a lot. I got to see a 13 minute movie. . After that we went shopping for 2 hours. I bought a bracelet, a pair of glasses, a jewel and a necklace.

Mackinac Island
by Hanna and Savanna

I wake up in the morning feeling so tired. Actually I was so excited but I don’t know what to say because it is 4:00 in the morning and we’re going to Mackinac Island today! Well back to Mackinac Island. We were going to Mackinac Island at 5:15. It all started when everyone got on the bus. Everyone was half awake but really really excited. It was hard to wake up but we did anyway. So we jumped in the bus and headed to Mackinac Island. Hanna and I sat by Colleen on the bus. We did not sleep on the bus but our friend Ella fell in a deep sleep. When Ella was sleeping Savannah spilled her flavored water all over the bus and it got all over everything and every one. We survived that adventure. Oh, and Hanna and Savannah’s parents came. Hanna’s Mom cane and Savannah’s dad came too. We finally got to the ferry. We saw the bridge and the water looked amazing.

We got on the ferry at 8:30. We mostly all sat on the bottom of the ferry. Kolin sat on top. Can you believe that? Well, I can’t. I saw a great view of the Island on the ferry. It was really cool looking at the bridge. We were on the ferry for about 15 -20 minutes. We rode on Shepler’s ferry. My friends and I stood up the whole ride there. It was really bumpy on the ferry.

When we got on the Island we took a carriage ride around the Island. We saw so many bikes. Our horses that pulled our carriage names were Chicka and Chup. We saw the oldest Lilac tree on Mackinac Island. It was 300 years old. It was so amazing. Then we saw Skull Cave. A man slept in there thinking it was just sticks and stones but when he woke up he saw it was skulls! Creepy! And there was one man that got a hole in his stomach when he got shot. But he lived. He always had a hole in his stomach.

When the carriage ride was over we went to eat at the Grand Hotel. It was amazing. The buffet table was 100 feet long. Twenty five of it was dessert. It was FAb! I was so good I was drooling just looking at it. The rooms were amazing too!
After that we went to the Fort. It was amazing. They did demonstrations there too and we saw the cannons and guns go off. We went into all the houses.

“SHOPPING TIME!!!” we all said and then we all got these awesome glasses like Ushers. Ya, it was Amazing! I would go there anytime. Then we went home. All good things have to come to an end!
