Assignment:
Fifth grade students were asked to look over the school website,
choose a favorite photo, copy it in a MS Word document, and
write about it.
It is
very fun playing basketball. It is also fun stealing and
shooting the ball. I’m number 3 in basketball, and I am a
point guard. My coaches in basketball are Mrs. Bennett and
Mrs. Bromley, they are very good coaches. Are team also
likes to be aggressive. Our team does very good in
basketball, and we have won all our games so far too. I’ve
gotten two fouls in basketball so far. I love to play
basketball, it is very fun. ~Lauryn
My
football season was great. I played tight end on offense and
defensive end on defense. In this picture we were playing
Kingsley, and I almost intercepted the ball but I wasn’t
thinking right and sort of swatted the ball down. Our team
didn’t do well we lost every game except this one we tied
0-0. After the game I was really down because if I would
have caught it and ran I might have scored because I was 18
yards from the endsone for a touchdown. Our record was 0-6-1
which means no wins, six losses, and one tie. My football
season was great. ~Austin
Spirit week was
very awesome this year. The thing that made spirit week
awesome was blue and gold day. Why? They let us show our
team spirit for the Portagers. In the morning Mrs. Brown
sold glow sticks. By 2:00 there was a humungous pep assembly
for homecoming. The things that they did were have a
belching contest, had a teacher get a pie in the face, and
have three football players put on a dress. This whole pep
assembly was awesome!! ~Kyle
Our
classes Halloween party was AWESOME!! At our Halloween party
Lauryn’s mom brought in balloons and we were blowing them up
and let them go and they would fly and squeak. Also we
played Guitar Hero and I got creamed on Eye of the Tiger.
Also Kiara creamed Austin by 20,000 points on a song by Bon
Jovi. Another thing we did is we had a doughnut contest and
we had to eat the doughnuts of a string hanging from the
ceiling. Also two people got pied. The two people that got
pied were Taler and Matt. Matt pied Taler and Brooke pied
Matt. Then we ate junk food and watched the movie Mall Cop.
The Halloween was the best one yet. ~Kelly
The first
5th grade basketball game was a lot of fun. We
played Bear Lake. I’m shooting a free throw in this picture.
We beat Bear Lake 20 to 8. I got the ball a lot and made one
basket. The game was awesome. ~Kiara
I had a
great time in school. It was a great time because this day
was spirit day. On spirit day everyone wears blue and gold.
The reason everyone wears blue and gold is to support the
Onekama football team and other Onekama teams. The cheer
leaders set up the whole thing. The best thing they planned
was some of the football players had to dress up in dresses.
It was funny. What it really was is a super model thing
because the boys had to walk down the gym and pose for us.

I had a fun time
with the new computers. When we got our new computer’s it
was fun. One of the things that are fun about them is that
they are touch screen. They also have a web cam.

My first
basketball game was great. We one 20-8.We played Bear Lake.
I am one of the point guards. That game I made a lot of
assists. About 5 assists. I had so much fun! ~Kassidy
Spirit
week was the best. We had a pep assembly for the homecoming
game. We are getting ready for the pep assembly to start. I
was shocked in how many players they had for the high school
football team. It was so loud in the gym when the pep
assembly started! First the cheerleaders did a dance they
made up. Then they announced the high school football team.
I think the pep assembly was really fun! ~Bobby
I had a great time
at the Halloween party this year. We did so many things. We
got to play guitar hero, I wore my costume, I got to eat
snacks, we watched mall cop, and as you can see we decorated
our pumpkins. My pumpkin didn’t turn out so good. It was so
fun. And I also got a surprise, my aunt and uncle came to
see me at the party. Oh and some people got pie in their
face. I had a lot of fun at the party. We also had a
doughnut eating contest. I lost because I couldn’t get the
doughnut into my mouth. I liked the party this year. ~Brooke
The day of my first
game was great. I had a lot of fun and also got a hold of
the ball. The thing that really scared me was Makayla S. was
gone so I had to jump! But I actually got the jump. I
thaught the game was going to be hard but instead it was
actually easy. And plus we won our first game! That was

The day
before Halloween we had a Halloween Party. We had snacks and
had a donut contest. Lauryn’s mom and grandma came in and
made shacks. Kiara brought in the movie Mall Cop. I seen
Mall Cop before. My class also played Guitar Hero. I vs.
Mister. Bradford and I won. ~Kassie
On
October 27, 2009 the fifth grade basketball team had a great
first game. The score was 20 to 8. We were the winners. The
game was at our gym not Bear Lake’s gym. Two of are players
were out. Makayla S. and Michele were the ones out. Makayla
S. was sink and Michele broke her collarbone. Bear Lake was
a hard team. ~Grace

Halloween party was fun. The fifth grade had a Halloween
party on Friday 10/30/09. The first thing that we did was
have a donut eating contest. I really liked the donut eating
contest because it was delicious and fun! My friend Matt won
so he got to pie a girl named Taler. We also got to play
Guitar Hero which I rocked at. I beat my friend Mark by over
50,000 points. When there was only an hour left we got to
watch Paul Blart Mall Cop. I had a great time at are
