be at the school at 5:15 Am. We spent almost two hours on the bus.
When we got P. in the U.P., we had to cross Mackinac Bridge two times.
So we could get to the ferry. We had to wait almost 21 minutes to get on
the fairy. When we saw the fairy there was a part that was warm at the
bottom, and an open part at the top of the boat. When we got off we rode
in the carriage. When we got off we got dropped off we were at a
butterfly museum. They were flying on every body. Then went on another
carriage. We went to a food court. It had Elephant ears, and dairy
products. When we were done we all got on another carriage and went to
Fort Mackinac. There was buildings that told you the information on
Mackinac Islands history. There was a jail place with a whip, handcuffs
with a dumbbell on it. There’s a doctors office that showed how they got
rid of the monkey pox then. Then we went and ate at a restaurant. Then
we went to a fudge shop it was called Rybas’ fudge shop. I got vanilla
no nut, chocolate no nut, and pistachio. Then we went to the haunted
house, it was scary. That’s what I did on Mackinac Island. ~Somer S.
This year my class and I went to Mackinaw Island. It took

seventeen fudge shops and a lot of gift shops. In mackinaw people can
only ride carriges or bikes. To get to Mackinaw Island we had to ride a
ferry. Me and my best friend rode on the bottom to get there. But on the
way back we rode on top. There was a butterfly house that we got to go
in. In the butterfly house there was butterfly’s everywhere. There was a

On May 16th we
went to Mackinac Island. We left at 5:15 in the morning and about a 4
hour bus ride. We got crammed in the bus. We all got green T-shirts they
said Mac Attack on them. It was so fun on the bus because I never got
bored. When we got there we went across the Mackinac Bridge because we
had time before our ferry boat. It was a little creepy going across the
high part on the bridge. It was creepy because there was only a vent of
metal the road part. When we got off the bus we went to the ferry dock
and waited a half an hour for our ferry to come. When it came we sat on
the top of the boat. We had a 16 minute ride there. We saw many other
things the water. When we got to land we got on a carriage ride. The
lady who was driving it was telling us about the buildings. We went on
for a long time then we stopped at a place where we got a snack. Then we
got back on a carriage. Then we were on the second part of the tour. We
went through the woods until we stopped at Arch Rock it was really cool.
After a while we got off the carriage and went to the fort. When we were
in the fort we ate our lunch. Then we walked around the fort. Then when
were done walking around the fort we went to the town outside and walked
around. We bought a lot of stuff. Then some of us went through the
haunted house it was really scary. We went to the park and we played.
Then we went and bought some fudge it was good. After that we had to get
back to the boat and I also got a fuzzy hat. When we got back to the bus
we were on our way home and we stopped to eat at Wendy’s. When we were
on our way home. We got back at about 9:30. I liked our trip to Mackinac
Island!! ~A.C.

we road the boat for 15 minutes. Once we got off the boat we road in a
carriage. It was funny because our horses kept on farting. After that we
ate ,then we went to the fort. Then we were all on our own. First my
grandma, Tiffany , and I looked at some places in the fort. It was
pretty cool to see how they live back then. Once we got done seeing the
fort we went downtown to go to the Haunted house. That was neat but at

On May 16, 2008 the fourth grade classes went to Mackinac
Island. We had to be at the school by 5:00a.m. The bus left the school
at 5:15a.m. We rode the bus for about 2 and ½ hours. We had to eat
breakfast on the bus. When we got on the Mackinac Bridge we were very
high up. The Mackinac Bridge is exactly 5 miles long. After we got
across the bridge we got on a ferry. While we were waiting we had to put
on a sticker that said Shepler’s Ferry on it. The sticker had a picture
of the ferry that we were going to ride on. The ferry ride was about 5-7
minutes long. When we got to Mackinac Island we had to wait on a dock.
While we were waiting we had to put on a pin that said I Horsed Around
On The Mackinac Island Carriage Tour. The pin was like a ticket so that
we could go on the tour. The carriage had 2 horses pulling it. On the
tour we learned a lot about Mackinac Island’s History. Every once in
awhile we had to stop to rest the horses. About half way into the tour
we stopped and we got to see arch rock and Nicolette’s Watch. After we
were done we got to go to a village and we got to split up with our
chaperones. We also got to go to the Butterfly House. They said that
there was more then 100 species of butterflies in the Butterfly House.
After we went to the Butterfly House we went to a concession stand and
got some snacks. Only a few people bought fudge. Most people just got
some hot chocolate or a donut and only a few people got a coffee or a
cappuccino. After we got our snacks we switched to a 3 horse carriage.
After we got on the 3 horse carriage we rode around the forest. I’m very
happy I got a chance to go to the great historic Mackinac Island.

people shoot guns. Then we got to go on another tour. Then after that we
got to go anywhere we wanted. We went to go eat and get fudge. After we
got fudge we went to the haunted house. Larissa and I were so scared. We
