Two weeks ago we went to Hartwick Pines. At Hartwick  Pines we went on a hike. On the trails we talked about three different kinds of woods. We also talked about animals and there habitat. We talked about different trees and how to identify them. They told use how to find out if it is a red pine or a white pine. You can tell how to tell if it is a white pine because a white pine has five needles per a bundle and the word white has five letters. You can tell if it is a red pine because it has two needles per a bundle. Hartwick Pines was really fun.  … Megan S

The we went to where the lumber jacks stayed. We pertendid where were lumber jacks. Usually the lumber jacks got one bath every two weeks. The tallest tree we say was about one hundred + tall. Before we went home we played a game called skins and skills it is where you get blind folded and Crag put something in you hands and you had what was in your hands I got a turtle shell but if you didn’t  now if you  what it was he would give you a hint. On the way back we stoped at McDonalds. It was a two hour ride back home.   …Andrew C.

On Friday the 11th my class went to Hartwick Pines for a class trip. The person who took us on the trail is a lady named Dale. She took us and showed us different kinds of trees. Then she took us to a guy named Mr. London. He told us about life as a lumberjack in 1856. He showed us what the cook shany looked like. Then he showed us what the bunkhouse looked like. Then he told us about each 2 weeks we got to take a bath and clean our clothes. Then he told us some tall tails. I think some of us believed them. Then we went back to the start of the trail and played skins and skulls. This game is played by covering your eyes with a blindfold and Craig would put something in your hands and you had to guess it. On the way home we stopped at McDonalds and ate. The day was so fun. …jarett
