Why are we doing this project?

Uganda, a country in East Africa, has one of the largest orphaned populations in the world. There are over one and a half million orphans in Uganda. Their parents have died of Aids, war, and multiple disease. The Uganda nation is struggling tirelessly to provide education, food and shelter to the orphaned children. They are looking to their friends all over the world for financial support.

This year the Art Students and the National Honor Society members will work together to provide for the less fortunate children of our world. NHS Participation

During the 1998-1999 school year, Onekama students worked on the successful Empty Bowl Project. The students were able to send money to the local food pantry.

How shall we start?

Students are to bring a new plain white t-shirt to school. Additional t-shirts may be donated. During three sessions of art class, the elementary children will learn to tie dye a shirt.
