Dear Parents,

Enclosed is your child's report card. Please take a few minutes to review the enclosed information with your child. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Our next conference will be student-led conferences on Thursday, March 28^th from 6-9 p.m. Please add this date to your calendar.

Last Monday your child brought home a Jump Rope For Heart form. Students will be jump roping the week of February 4^th during their scheduled gym with Mr. Thorr. Permission slips need to be returned by Monday, January 28^th. All donations need to be collected by Friday, February 8^th.

Last Tuesday we voted for our favorite books from the Michigan Reading Association (MRA) Readers' Choice Award. Our school favorite was Bark, George by Jules Feiffer.

Next week “The Store” will open for business. The Store is a bulletin board consisting of many items such as rulers, pads of paper, posters, stickers, pencils, pens, highlighters, bookmarks, and much more. Each item has a price tag. Your child will earn money for completing work, following directions, working quietly, helping a friend, or many other possibilities. Students will be able to purchase items on Fridays. They must be able to count the money within three tries. If a student is unable to count the money, then s/he will be unable to purchase from the store. The store is a privilege for those who have earned it.

Book orders are due tomorrow. Please make checks payable to Scholastic. No cash please!!

• February 6^th – Good Behavior Ski Day
• February 8^th – Buddy Reading with Mrs. Brown's fourth grade class
• February 11^th – Teacher In-Service (No School)
• February 14^th – Valentine's Day party at 1:30 – 2:45 p.m.
• February 22^nd – Winter Break (No School)
