Philanthropy Lesson 3: Give a Cookie. Our goal for this leson was sharing. The lesson tied into our math lesson on fractions. We used the story The Doorbell Rang by Pat Hutchens. We learned how to share cookies so each person received an equal portion. |

We read a story called The Empty Pot by Demi. After reading we planted a seed just like the character, Pin, did in the story. We planted some flowers for our Mother's Day gift. Photographs on the right show the students packing soil into their pots and planting their seeds. April 2002 |
