Climbing high mountains can be difficult. Some climbers indicated that trying to get enough oxygen was like breathing through a straw. (as these boys are doing) The students also held their hand in ice water to get the idea of how difficult it would be to work under such cold conditions

 

The Space Program

Astronaut Mike Bloomfield will be visiting Onekama September 30, 1999. The students are preparing by studying about living on a space shuttle, making a paper shuttle, and checking the Outer Space Internet sites. They are making space timelines and reading about the Voyager Missions and Space Camp.
