There are a lot of different rivers in the U.S. such as the Mississippi and the St. Lawrence. My favorite river is the St. Lawence because my uncle's name is Lawrence. It is the boundary between the U.S. and Canada. We have a lot of rivers in the U.S.

Soccer

I play soccer in the fall. It is fun. I am very good at being the goalie. No one can score a goal on me. Very few people get hurt playing soccer. Soccer is my favorite sport.

Ants

Ants are small insects. You may think an ant has antennas. Guess what? They don't have antennas, they have sensors. The sensors help them feel. Ants have a storage place in their home. A queen ant flies with another ant to make another home. Ants are cool to watch.

Gizmos & Gadgets

Gizmos & Gadgets is a computer game. You have to find pieces of a vehicle. When you get all the pieces to build the vehicle you get to race it. Some of the vehicles you can build are airplanes and cars. If you win you get a trophy.

Book It!

Every month we have to read 50 pages or more. Then we get points for that month. Everyone has to get three or four points a month. We can only miss our goal one month. If we get enough points by the end of year we get to go to Pizza Hut. The student with the most points gets a T-shirt.

Paper Mache

I like to make stuff with paper mache. When we use paper mache we have to be careful. It is very sticky and gooey. It also smells like rotten eggs. I like to use paper mache to make projects.

Girls Basketball

Basketball is really fun to do. There are six girls on a basketball team. On Saturday we have practice. We play games after we are done with practice. Basketball is hard to do but it is fun to play.

The Parts of A Flower

We learned the parts of a flower. There is a pollen tube in the center of the flower. We also studied about ovules and eggs. The sperm cells are located in the pollen tube. Learning about flowers was interesting.

Mississippi River

The Mississippi River starts in Minnesota. The Mississippi flows south and east. It empties into the Gulf of Mexico. The Mississippi used to be called the Great Muddy. There is a lot more to learn about the Mississippi River.

Rain Forest

Rain forests are important to animals. There are a lot of animals in the rain forest. One of them is the snake. The burning of the rain forest is not good. Without rain forests many animals would become extinct.

Specials

Fourth graders have these specials P.E., Art, and Library. We have P.E. on Wednesday and Friday. Art is on Thursday. We have Library on Tuesday. These are my favorite specials.

Pollination

Bees are the most mysterious insects that ever lived. Bees go to from flower to flower. They take pollen and put it on their legs. Then they take the pollen and rub a chemical from it onto the blossom. Next bees take the pollen to the hive and make sweet honey. They do this over and over again.

Rain Forest

The rain forest is very important. Most of the medicine comes from the rain forest. It is one of the largest forest in the world. There are hundreds of plants and animals that live there. The rain forest is very important to our resources.

Spanish

Spanish is a lot of fun. We are learning a lot of numbers and words in Spanish. We learned the color words in Spanish. Red in Spanish is rojo. We still have a lot of Spanish to learn. Spanish is the best.

Planting Seeds

We planted seeds in science. Everyone got to plant a seed. I planted a Morning Glory. The plants are about 10 inches tall now. We planted them about six weeks ago. We had a fun time planting seeds.

Music Teacher

Our music teacher, Miss Schwarz, is nice. She taught us notes in music class. Our class is short but we learn a lot. Miss Schwarz is a fun teacher. She likes the Michigan State football team.
