Mrs. Campbell's Class Enjoyed Working on The NetGap Project

Our class had Mrs. Audrey Kline as our Netgap historian. She told us many stories including one about piling 12 in one car in one car and going to dances. She described getting dressed for the dance.

Mrs. Kline grew up in the Manistee Area. She came to Onekama in 1950. 1950 is the same time she got married. That was 38 years before I was born. I learned some interesting things from her. ...Nathan W.

It was fun to make a picture of a senior citizen. Chris and I learned a little more about working together. Our senior citizen will come tomorrow. ...Anne

It was fun being a camera man for Mrs. Peabody. I got to record Mrs. Kline when she came. She had a lot of good stories. I liked the story of the coffin the best. ...Jake W.

During the pre-training, we imagined what it would be like to be a senior citizen.

Evan is surprised by our cameraman. He is drawing a senior citizen. His team created a spry 80-year-old woman with vision problems.

In my picture I am coloring his pants. Jesse, Nick and Kristin are helping me. I asked Mrs. Kline, "How did they dress when you were a kid?. Mrs. Kline answered, "We couldn't wear slacks. The girls had to wear dresses." ....Ryan

After we drew our senior citizen we told the class about it.

Mrs. Kline went to a one room school. Mrs. Kline's dad worked here. Mrs. Kline had to walk to school. Mrs. Kline got married in 1950. Mrs. Kline went to the beach in the summer. ...Zack

It was fun working with the camera. I liked the visit and taking the pictures. I took a couple of pictures. It was kind of hard because you have to hold the camera straight. Mrs. Kline had a lot of funny stories. ... Amber J.

I asked, "Could you tell us a few memories about your home life as a child?" She said she rode her bike a lot. She told us her dad dug up a human bone at her Grandma's house when they were making a Victory Garden. They found a complete skeleton of a young lady. She could have died of a contagious disease because it had a viewing glass. They found the coffin handles and the black satin lining. ...Nick S.

During refreshments Mrs. Kline talked with a small group about many things. She answered questions. Her stories about being a teenager during WWII were funny but a little scary.

Meeting Mrs. Kline was very interesting. We wrote down what she said in our notes. She had a lot of good stories.
