Red Ribbon Week

Adam G & Clayton K

Red Ribbon Week was October 20-24. This is a national campaign. This week is to show the students why it is so very important to stay off drugs, tobacco and alcohol. It teaches us to keep our bodies healthy. We had lots of activities and art projects we did that week. Some of our favorites were: Hat Day, Wear Red Day, and tying red ribbons on all the classroom doors. The SADD Chapter kids came to our classrooms and did a talk and a Cheer. They passed out RED RIBBONS to the students and also tied them onto the cars in the school parking lot. The whole school got to go to an assembly. We got to hear Steve Arrington, a former Navy Frogman, and chief diver for the Cousteau Society speak. He shared his life experiences and taught us the importance of staying away from drugs. This was a great fun week. We thought it was really cool and it will help us in our future choices.
