Katrina the Goldfish

Eleanor V

We got a gold fish in Texas and named her Katrina. After my sister Claire chose her, we got a bowl, fish food, a castle, and a book on how to take care of your goldfish. Then we brought her home in a baggie. We took turns feeding her and we had to put new water in her bowl every week. I liked to watch her swim around her bowl. Who wouldn’t she was so pretty. She died just a bit after, too bad she was such a wonderful pet.

Ginger is Peppy

Derek E.

I have a dog named GINGER. She has curly hair, and she is very pretty. She’s an Airedale. When she wants to go to the bathroom she rings a bell on the door. Sometimes I put little antlers on her head and take pictures of her. She doesn’t like that. She won’t let a person in the house if she doesn’t know who they are. She also wrestles with my dad and most of the time it is my dad that gets hurt or bitten. When she was younger and my dad left , she would act like a devil. He would be gone a week and she missed him very much. Now she doesn’t do that.

She will eat most anything even acorns, rocks. One time she ate my mother’s bra.

We call her Ginger because she is really peppy. One time two of my friends came over to act a play out and we were moving a cardboard tube out and it started to unravel and when we were moving my friend got tied up because the dog was pulling on it. The dog was very frisky that day.

Bear

Erica S.

My dog is named Bear. When I first meet Bear he was with his mom, sisters and brothers. I think he was to little to be tooken away from his mom.

He has a great personality. He loves me and my family. He is nice. He likes to meet new people. He lays low sometimes. He does a lot off thing. He wander off and looks for his girlfriend. He sled with us. He fight with us. He goes out and gets something from the rode and he got hit. When he is hurt he moans. When he is happy he barks. When he is sad he does not make a sound.

He looks like a black bear with blue eyes. He has a little white hair near his chest. He is little bit shepherd and the rest is lab. My dog bear smells like a garbage can. Sometimes he smell good.

I love my dog bear.

Orion

Jade Bolthouse

My puppy, Orion, is a black lab he weights 100 pounds and stands at least 4 ’8 feet tall from the tip of his nose to his back feet. He knows how to play tag and fetch. Some times he does a somersault when he gets excited. He also knows how to sit, stay, shake, lay down, jump, and even roll over some times.

We got Orion because my sister and I begged and begged for a puppy. He is all black with a pinkish nose. His father was a chocolate lab and his mom was a black lab. His full name is Orion Chaser Valdez Bolthouse. We named him that because we name all of our dogs after gods and constellations.

When he has to go outside he scratches on the door. When you throw snow up in the air he catches it in his mouth and it melts. When he is outside we have to watch him good because he likes to roll in horse dung. He sure does stink when he does that!! People are right when they say dog is a mans best friend.

Sonic the Rat

Mike C.

This is a story about my pet rat, Sonic. Sonic died about one year ago from cancer , but I still miss her.

Sonic could run extremely fast. Thanks to her speed, our other rat is still alive. she fell behind the tank and then sonic ran and jumped on my sleeping moms face, then she ran back to the tank and jumped in the tank. Then my mom ran to the tank to see buster (the other rat) and grab her.

Sonic was a hooded rat. They get the name because they have white fur and a black head.( like a hood)

We got her when my brother had to go to the dentist, so my mom and I went for a walk. We saw a pet store called masty pets. When my brother was done we all went their all got two rats Buster and Sonic.

I’m glad we got Sonic and I wish she was still alive today.

Eli, My Dog

Sarah A.

My dog, Eli, is a chocolate lab. We got him from a lady with about 13 puppies. We got the biggest one so he was named after the Elias Big Boy because he is very, very big. He is a registered labrador retriever and his real name is Elias of Windy Ridge. In the winter we go sledding and Eli chases us down the hill. My dad hooks the rope on the sled and Eli pulls my little brother up the hill. He knows tricks like shake, jump, sit and bark . I can even ride him. Some times he goes down to the pond and comes back stinky. The pond is like a sewage pond. I am glad we got Eli.

Snickers

Kayla M.

Before we got our cat, some one dropped him off at Mrs. Eldridge’s house I don’t know why. But one day Mrs. Eldridge asked my mom if she wanted a three legged cat? But my mom said she would think about it. When she got home she told us that she was thinking about getting a cat. We said sure mom. Then she told us that it was born with a cobbled up leg. So the next time she went to Mrs. Eldridge’s house she brought him home.

When my mom brought him in the house we were deciding on a name for him. Finally we thought of the name Snickers, so that’s what we named him. You know those balls on top of your winter hats well one day Snickers found one and started playing with it ,so then I went and got some string tied it to the ball and started bouncing it in the air and he started hitting it. It was really funny. I hope we have Snickers forever because it would be boring with out him.

Magic is a Funny Cat

Scott T.

My pet, Magic, is a funny cat not like other cats. When he sees snow he runs around wild. My cat loves canned fish and company. He does this sad cat look to me when he wants something like fresh water. He is a furball with legs, arms, ears, and eyes. He makes some pretty wierd noises like MAAAAWW!

My cat is older than my nephew. He needs love and care from us for a living. When you pet and scratch him he purrrrrrrrrs like a drumroll. He is the laziest cat I’ve ever seen. If you see my cat you’d smile.

Georgia

Samantha G.

I have five pets, three cats and two dogs. But I am going to tell you about just one, one of my dogs, Georgia. We didn’t pick her name, but I like it. We were going to change her name to Spike( at least my dad wanted to.)

She is brown, black, and white colored. She has a long tail and a funny face. It is strange because she is a mixed breed. She is part boxer and part pitbull.

A couple of years ago, my dad heard that there was a dog at the animal shelter. My dad really wanted to get her, but then he heard that someone took her. I think he was sad after hearing the news. But then we got good news, Georgia was back at the animal shelter! So we went over to the animal shelter to take her home. There was a big gate in front of the yard where all the dogs were. We saw Georgia far off in the back of the dirt yard. She was in a small dog house with a chain around her neck. Then we put her in the car and took her home. She was very dirty so we had to give her a bath right away. When she was all clean we let her run around the house even though you weren’t aloud to have pets there. I wouldn’t get off the rocking chair for a long time while she was running around because I was afraid of her.

Just about a month after we got her we moved. When we were painting we had to make sure she didn’t get into the paint. After we were done we went out of the house for awhile to go somewhere. When we came back we couldn’t find Georgia. We looked all over for Georgia, in the basement, in the closets, all over. Then we looked outside, no Georgia. But finally, we found her. She was outside. She was all right, but we weren’t sure because she jumped out an open window!

After that my brother got horribly sick. So he and my mom went to the hospital in Iowa. That left just my dad, Georgia, and me. During that time we thought there was a ghost because when Georgia walked through the dinning room, all of the glasses would shake.

A long time ago I was afraid of Georgia, but now I absolutely love her!!

Nippy, My Raccoon

Kayla F.

My raccoon, Nippy, is a male and was a couple months old when I got him. I got him from my Uncle Rick. He found him on the side of the road by his mother, but his mother was dead. So Uncle Rick brought him to Jake and me because Jake is his son. We both decided that I would keep him at my house because Aunt Cindy said, “No way” because she has about a million animals. But my dad thought it would be good if I had my Aunt Lila train him because she trains racoons. So in a few months Nippy was trained and he could stay in the house. My cat was very jealous.

A Deer Named Jazmen

Mary Lynn

My deer, Jazmen is a white tail deer. She is brown, gray and black. Her fur is really fluffy right now because it is the winter, but in the summer it is very silky. In the winter Jazmen needs to be warm so she has a thicker coat then the summer.

I first saw her in my hay field when my dad was doing hay. She was just laying there for a long time. So we thought we should take her so it wouldn’t die. We got to keep it because we asked the DNR if we could buy it. They said, “yes.” We had to feed her with a bottle for a while.

When I run around the fence she runs with me. It’s really fun because she is right beside when we run together. She also does weird sounds it is like a grunt. She does lots in the winter when she runs because of the cold weather. Her breath smells like dog food sometimes but not all the time. She is one of the best pet I ever had.
